History

Established in 2011

Dropped by last week to check it out for Christmas gifts. ?Beautiful interior, with an eclectic selection of gifts for guys and gals. ?Toby, the owner, is the kindest guy in Silverlake. ?A must! P.S. Grab a tube of the pawpaw ointment at the counter. ?It’s the best!
Everything everyone else has already said above. ?A friend’s dog chewed up my Coach wallet this Spring. ?After about a week I thought, “I should really start looking in earnest for a new wallet”. ?After a bite at FoodLab next door I stopped by Hemingway and Pickett. ?I was thrilled at the eclectic selection, just the overall vibe was utterly unique….AND, I found the most beautiful Eel skin wallet for a good price. ?And it’s WAY more stylish than my old Coach wallet. ?Welcome to Silverlake, H&P.
A unique store filled with one of a kind items. ?Excellent place for a gift.
Great store for your own home furnishings or picking up gifts. ?I find the other shops in the hood…cough, cough, Yolk, offer items that aren’t much more than toys or sell stuff that looks like it was stolen from some Boho flop shack. ?The jewelry, art, home furnishings items here are unique freshwater Pearl Necklaces, sophisticated and unlike anything else I’ve seen in Silver Lake (is that redundant?). I recommend. ?PS – Fish tacos across the street are excellent.
Very nicely curated. ?Stopped by the first weekend they opened and got a linen print of a great artist from Charlottesville, VA. ?A surprising find! ?Also, reasonably priced! ?I went online to look for some of the stuff they sold. ?Turns out they import a lot of stuff from Australia and there’s hardly any mark up to account for the shipping and currency exchange. ?On top of that, had a nice talk about REWIND, where they got their stereo system from. ?This is my new favorite place to buy stuff for my apartment.
Finally! A store where my wife and I can get classy gifts on the eastside.Enough of the junky stores with nothing of interest. We found some beautiful jewelry for her and a set of amazing postcards from Australia for my mother. Glad to have such an inviting spot in the ‘hood.
Great place for gifts for yourself and anyone else as there is a wonderful and artsy selection of pieces that you don’t see everywhere else. ?Definitely a must-stop to find something special. ?And you can get a great snack at Food + Lab next door. ?Love H+P.
I got the most precious tea infusers here! Great place stocked with good taste. ?If you need a perfect gift for someone or yourself, check this gem out.
Excellent selection of gifts and small goods — just enough items and very interesting. ?Favorite small gift shop in the Silverlake area. ?Owner Toby is a really nice guy. ?Have bought a few very thoughtful birthday gifts in here, and a few for myself!
This is a fabulous little store owned by a super cool Aussie (who also happens to be a great musician too — I bought both his cd’s!) that stocks unique gifts from around the world. Even original mezcal shot glasses from Mexico City! I will definitely be stopping by again.
I went looking for a gift and wound up buying several – for myself (the sign of a great store)! I just wish they sold the boomerang.
What a cool little shop this is. ?I live in Venice and love to come over to the Silver Lake area and see what the eastside has to offer. ?This is the most unique place I’ve found in sometime. The interiors and especially the wood covered ceiling were really cool. ?The Art work was awesome, the jewelry amazing (according to my girlfriend and mom). ?Check it out and I’m sure you’ll love it like I did
