Giveaway: Acculon 21 and 49 strand beading wire!
Long known as an inexpensive beading wire easily available almost everywhere beading supplies are sold, Acculon by Cable Strand has now gotten into the quality beading wire game. I’ve had a chance to test it out for myself: I received spools of nylon coated Acculon in the medium diameter wire (0.018 inch) in both 21 strand and 49 strand. I thought it compared very favorably to other premium beading wires, and I used it in one of my recent projects that I shared with you ( Bali Hai necklace ). ***Free Stuff Alert!!!*** Would you like to try this wire out for yourself? I’ve got one 30 foot spool of 21 strand and one of 49 strand to give away. There will be two winners, each receiving one spool of wire (random assignment who gets which). Just leave me a comment below and you’ll automatically be entered. If you tweet or post on Facebook or other social spots about the contest, you can leave a second comment and be entered twice!

Supplies for Bead Jewelry Making
I’m planning on embarking on a new journey, a journey towards a new hobby. What hobby is that? Bead jewelry making. I have yet to start on it. I don’t even know when I’ll be able to start! But this early, I am already starting to stock up on various supplies. One supply I have stocked up on is lucite beads in shades of orange and red. Why did I choose those colors? Well, I just thought the colors were so rich and vibrant and would definitely add an extra splash of refreshing colors to whatever design I come up with. Actually, the store where I bought the beads had a whole assortment of equally vibrant colors like blue, green, yellow, purple and of course my favorite, pink! Have you ever seen those striped hard candies which are often in red and white? The beads look like that except that they are shaped like a tiny ball. Pretty neat, huh

Greek Worry Beads Take Your Stress Away
If you are searching for authentic Greek worry beads though, be sure that’s where they were originally made. They may often be known as Komboloi worry beads. This implies that they had been certainly crafted in Greece. If you know someone who struggles with worry and stress, purchase a set for them as well. Though they may be just a tad bit skeptical of the power of Greek fear beads, once they hold them, they’re going to understand their charm. They do indeed provide comfort and by rubbing your finger or thumb over them, you will really feel the stress simply soften away. In our stress-crammed world, almost everyone can profit from having a set of these unique beads. Beadseller on Internet Search Engines
The beads and beading supplies were and are still sitting here staring at me! Back to the store so I worked diligently, day and night trying to create my webstore. I would complete umteen pages and then notice that I didn’t correct the font color on the previous 10 or so pages. So editeditedit. Then while on my way to a special employment seminar, June 2, 2005, some crazy driver plowed into the side of my car, 2002 Hyundai Elantra. I was sitting in the passenger seat that fateful day and she hit directly behind my seat and continued until she managed to take out the rear axle. What was she thinking??? Or better still what was she on??? Three days later, GEICO completed the estimate of damages totaling over $4,000. I didn’t even see the damages as I was taken by ambulance to the hospital. I am still undergoing treatment and under my doctor’s care. I don’t think that my neck will ever be the same. My right shoulder still hurts. I require an operation on my right knee.

a new beading partner
An exciting thing happened over the weekend… my little girl was invited to a birthday party at a bead shop, and the activity was making a necklace! She’s now TOTALLY hooked on making jewelry! My jewelry and beading supplies have been in our computer/playroom for several years… right at my daughter’s disposal, yet she never really was “into” making jewelry. That is, until this weekend. Needless to say, I did a major destash and she is thrilled! Now we’re all set for those hazy, hot & humid days this summer when the noontime heat keeps us inside. I have some new items arriving in my etsy shop , including the two bracelets on this post. I’m also working on a new journal. I am also offering free domestic shipping on all my journals and jewelry until this Wednesday. ;) Happy Monday!

She is aware of what works and what doesn’t for needlepoint with beads and gives you good advice. If you follow her suggestions for choices of beads, you will do successful project from the start. She has also worked out, which is a huge help in trying this technique, which type of bead fits on which canvas. How to Decorate Wooden Beads Tutorials
Tweet Wooden beads are light weight and easy to customize. They can be dyed, painted or covered over with fabric. Over on Edie’s Fashion Factory blog is a fun dyed wooden bead necklace tutorial by Kristal Wick. Rit Dyes were used for the triple stranded focal. One more clever idea by Kristal is the use of additional clasps in the front so the wearer can choose to wear the necklace with 1, 2 or 3 strands!! Vanessa Christenson’s Lime Green Necklace tutorial shows us how easy it is to paint wooden beads. Check it out and see her tips on how to mount the beads for the painting process. Jojo over at Cut Out and Keep has a clever painted wood beads tutorial She didn’t just paint it but she also chiseled out designs on the beads themselves. Carolyn Hasenfratz’s Decoupage Wooden Beads tutorial is just wonderful as the square and round beads are rubber stamped and have small pieces of paper applied. A good project for those who love crafts.

I’m living in the jungle. At least that’s what it feels like at night here in beautiful Iowa City. The hot, steamy air sings, alive with insects and birds. I look around and think yes, this looks like a quiet, tree-lined street somewhere in America’s heartland, but it feels like the Amazon. Even so, each night I go sit on the patio and soak in the warmth and watch my boys catch and release fireflies. Although the move was a pain in the you-know-what, I am so happy to be here! My cute friend Vanessa from V and Co. is on her way here right now. That’s right–she’s moving to Iowa, too, just 20 minutes up the road! She’ll be here this week to experience the Amazon along with me, and hopefully we’ll have a few field trips to quilt shops and antique stores in the area (yeah!). She also volunteered (in the middle of her move!) to guest post for our birthday bash. I just love this girl! If you don’t know her already, go check out her blog and her shop.
